My new computer is operational :
- Gigabyte B760 AORUS Elite AX
- Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-13900K CPU
- Memory: 2x32GiB DDR5
- NVMe disk of 2TB
Retrieved from my previous computer:
- Corsair Graphite series 760T box
- WaterCooling
- SSD disks, 180GB and 480GB
- SATA disk of 4TB
This computer is now my main development workstation and also my x86_64 builder.
First test, boot time < 5", PHP 8.3 build takes 20" instead of 55". Nice.
CPU Benchmark shows tripling of results, see i9-9900K vs i9-13900K
Another comparison, building grpc extension RPM, with the old i9-9900K
- 4'12" for a single build using -j16
- 3'29" average for 2 builds using -j8
- 3'25" average for 3 builds using -j5
With the new i9-13900K
- 2'20" for a single build using -j32
- 1'20" average for 2 builds using -j16
- 1'05" average for 3 builds using -j10
I plan to extend it quickly:
- +64GiB memory
Thanks to all who want to participate, see the Merci/Thanks page.
Of course, my previous machine, from 2019, will be re-used

Another comparison test with the build of grpc extension (1.60.0RC1) on the full matrix
So the benefit is real and confirmed (three times faster)
Salut Remi,
belle machine,
a titre indicatif combien de temps met-elle pour compiler QET?
git clone --recursive https://github.com/qelectrotech/qel...
cd qelectrotech-source-mirror.git
mkdir build && cd build
qmake ../qelectrotech.pro
time make -j$(nproc)
Chez moi avec le AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3960X (4.5 GHz Max.)
Processeur 24-Core 48-Threads socket sTRx4 Cache 128 Mo 7 nm TDP 280W, ça me donne:
real 0m27,547s
Cordialement,
Laurent
Disk speed test (using hdparm)
@scorpio810: 28" for qet using GCC 13.2 and make -j32
For memory Intel Core i9-13900K vs AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3960X
Another comparison test with the build of datadog_trace extension (0.94) on the full matrix
So the benefit is real and confirmed again (three times faster)
Memory upgraded to 128GB
