RPM of beta version of next major version of the Mozilla Foundation browser are available in the remi repository for fedora.
To read :
- Firefox 5 Beta (StandBlog, in french)
- Mozilla Firefox Beta Release Notes
This version 5.0 beta RC installs beside standard version.
A backup of your profile (~/.mozilla/firefox folder) is strongly recommended.
Installation :
yum --enablerepo=remi install firefox5
Launch, with profile choice :
firefox5 -profilemanager
Notice : this RPM is close of firefox 4 one, some fixes are from spot work (great thanks). Our goals are quite different (final version will replace system firefox in current, and recently EOL, version of fedora).
This package needs xulrunner5 which install beside default one (and beside xulrunner2).
A strange character at the end of the windows title is annoying... I'm searching for the reason...
RPM are available for fedora >= 13.
