MySQL Worbench, the modeling tool that allows you to design and generate MySQL databases graphically is now available as 5.1.17 GA (stable) for Linux. RPM for Fedora 9, 10 and 11 are available in remi repository. I Hope it could be proposed soon for official repository (still some work).
Read the Releases Page for changes history.
The download site only provide RPM for Fedora 11 i386 and x86_64. My repository provides RPM for Fedora 9, 10 and 11, for i386, x86_64, ppc and ppc64. Previous Fedora versions doesn't have the required dependencies (p.e. : cairo >= 1.5)
As always :
yum --enablerepo=remi install mysql-workbench
Of course, it was build with mysql-5.1.37-1
Those who don't want to upgrade MySQL could use the compatibility library mysqlclient16.
Patches for Bug #45629 and Bug #45797 have been merged upstream.
For a good packaging, it is necessary to use system libraries rather than bundled ones. Done for curl, libsigc++, boost, yassl (switch to openssl) and mysql-connector-c++. I need more work for scintilla and ctemplate (if you are curious, compare the size of officials RPM to mine).
To be followed on MySQL Workbench 5.1.17 Available
